Gwerlie Blue: Cooking for REAL ☺

Who would have ever thought that I could have this passion in cooking.  My life routine before was to play, hang out with friends, school but that was when my Nanay is still around.  Things changed since she got sick and bedridden. My Mom was a great cook I must say cause I really love all the dish she served to us and I am missing everything, her presence.. Let me share something how I got hooked up with cooking which was a pleasant surprise ☺.  So while she was in bed suffering from Cancer, I took the chance of asking her about the recipes she knows cause I was hoping that one day I could cook for her when she gets better. Even in pain, she willingly taught me about it and to me it was our simplest mother and daughter bonding while having the idea that worst thing could happen anytime of the moment. I owe it a lot to my Nanay :(.

My Mom passed away and from then on we needed to start a life without her.  I took charge of cooking then.  It was like a struggle at first, the taste was not as yummy and good looking as how my Mom did it.  However, practice makes perfect! Hahahahah!!! Since I was cooking everyday, I felt like I was doing it better as my family is liking the dish already until it became a habit. lol.  I find cooking really interesting and the joy it brings when someone appreciates it. As i wanted to explore more about it, I bought some cook books to serve as my guide and credits to youtube and cooking show locally and internationally  for sharing some methods and recipes freely.

Now, I should say that I am loving and enjoying this - - -  COOKING! Who knows where this passion could lead me into. (feeling positive) I may not be as excellent as anybody else, the  food may not be as extravagant as anything you see in a fancy restaurant but one thing for sure, I am cooking from the heart that makes food even yummier!!! And I hope someday aside from family and friends, I could cook for that someone special (wink) (wink) (wink) ♥

"The table is a meeting place, a gathering ground, the source of sustenance and nourishment, festivity, safety, and satisfaction. A person cooking is a person giving: Even the simplest food is a gift."
